All participating books are hosted on Google servers and protected by the same security as Google.com's search data. To further protect book content, printing and image copying functions are disabled on all Google Book pages.

The Google Books Partner Program is a free marketing program that enables publishers and authors to promote their books online, through Google Books. It may be particularly interesting and useful to small publishers or those research institutes which mostly produce non-commercial publications. Publishers or other copyright holders may also submit out-of-print-books.

Google Book Search allows users to easily discover book titles and then purchase them from local booksellers, online retailers or the publishers. It allows publishers and authors to submit their books (either hard copies or a PDF files) for inclusion in Google’s search results. Once sent or uploaded, the titles go through parsing and indexing procedures, after which a preview is made public. When readers find a book on Google Books, they see only a limited preview of its contents, as well as a series of links leading to retailers. However, the full text of the book is indexed and each word of a title may appear as a search result on Google Books. Moreover, the Google Books index is integrated with the index of Google.com and the submitted titles may be discovered by an ordinary Google search.

The Google Books Partner Program also allows publishers to manage their account information, view traffic reports (see click rates on “Buy this book” links, etc.), and review other stats related to the Google Books program.

Google’s Book Search Partner Program provides detailed guidelines on the book submission procedure (http://books.google.com/support/). For issues not covered by the help files, partners may ask for further technical support. In that respect we would like to make grateful acknowledgments to the Google Books Team for the help provided in making the previews of our books readable.
