Prof. Dr. Anupama Ghosh, Pontifical Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), visited the Institute of Technical Sciencesof SASA on 17 June 2024. On that occasion she got an insight into research that is currently being carried out at ITS SASA on the development of optically active nanomaterials, photocatalysts and electrochemical sensors.
Prof. Dr. Anupama Ghosh holds a PhD (2012) in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. She completed a postdoctoral internship at the Physics Department of the Pennsylvania State University (USA) and at the Physics Department of the Federal University of Piauí (Brazil). She is currently assistant professor at the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering (DEQM), PUC-Rio. Her research is related to the synthesisand characterization of carbonaceous, inorganic and hybrid carbon-inorganic materials from renewable sources.
During her visit to ITS SASA, she discussed opportunities for further collaboration with Dr. Lidija Mančić. She also gave the plenary lecture “Heat treatment of iron-adsorbed functionalized nanocellulose fibers inorder to synthesize hybrid inorganic-carbon materials“, at the 31st International Conference Ecological Truth and Environmental Research (18-21 June 2024, Sokobanja, Serbia). The aim of the Conference was to provide a platform for the researchers and practitioners both, from academia as well as industry, to meet and share the cutting-edge developments in the fields of ecology, technology, chemical engineering, environmental protection and environmental management.
