On May 28, 2024, a meeting was held at the Institute of Technical Sciences of SASA between representatives of the Institute and a delegation from the National Museum of Serbia, as a follow-up to the Collaboration Agreement between the two institutions, signed in December 2023. ITS SASA was represented by Dr. Miloš Tomić, Director, Dr. Lidija Mančić, Deputy Director, and Dr. Smilja Marković, Principal Research Fellow. The delegation from the National Museum of Serbia included the museum advisors Dr. Emina Zečević and Dr. Vera Krstić, the curator Milica Cicmil, and the senior conservation specialists Vesna Rogić, Kristina Horjaki, and Milica Marić Stojanović.

ITS SASA presented the equipment and expertise in the spectroscopic and thermal methods for artefact analysis. Special emphasis was placed on methods for detecting the presence of microorganisms on paper artefacts at an early stage.

The two institutions have decided to continue the successful collaboration that has been coordinated by Dr. Smilja Marković and Vesna Rogić over the past several years.
