Collaboration with the University Of Araraquara: graduate programme in Biotechnology in Regenerative Medicine and Medicinal Chemistry

Ms Rauni Cristina Lopez Francisco, PhD student at the University of Araraquara in Brazil spent eight months (Sep 2023 / May2024) at the Institute of Technical Sciences SASA (Group for Optically Active and Semiconducting Nanostructured Materials), working on the project Development of luminescent bioactive glass for multimodal diagnostic imaging, funded by the Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination (CAPES), Brazil.

Some of the results of this research, which was supervised by Dr. Lidija Mančić, are included in the PhD thesis Study of the properties of cellulose oxidized with the TEMPO reagent addedto bioglass as a bioink for use in regenerative medicine, which was sucessfulty defended by Rauni Cristina Lopez Francisco on 7 August 2024 at the University of Araraquara. ITS SASA was represented in the PhD thesis Evaluation Committee by Dr. Marina Vuković, who attended the PhD defense ceremony online.
